ENERGY STAR® Qualifications & Home Energy Ratings (HERS)

An ENERGY STAR qualification will allow the homeowner to qualify for a long-term 5% discount on Progress Energy electric bills. An ENERGY STAR qualification also increases the value of the home by propelling improvement in the home's energy efficiency, indoor air quality and indoor comfort.

ENERGY STAR was created to help consumers easily identify products, homes, and buildings that save energy and money, and help protect the environment. As the government-backed, trusted symbol for energy efficiency, the ENERGY STAR label identifies highly efficient products and designates superior energy performance in homes and buildings. Pricing

Typically, builders are most interested in qualifying for ENERGY STAR through a HERS energy rating, but occasionally we'll have a homeowner seeking these services as well. Stream can help homeowners understand exactly what improvements need to be made in order to qualify.

For builders, we charge typically $400-600 per house for the whole package when one of our HVAC test services is also purchased for the same house. A projected rating can be given immediately after plan review and before construction begins at no extra cost.
